Destination Rewards

A rewarding vacation spot isn’t always the obvious choice. While many families look for the well-known global hot spots, others look deeper, attempting to find those rare gems that sparkle no matter how much attention is paid to them, and continue to draw die-hard fans year after year after year. These places are more than just vacation spots: they’re miniature universes, into which guests dip when they come, and whose customs and traditions recharge guests’ overworked batteries for years to come.

One such destination is the Fijian Islands. Long known as an excellent destination for those people looking to enjoy the beauties of a tropical paradise while avoiding the crowds of more obviously popular spots, Fiji has carved out a niche over the years as an excellent place to spend a vacation. Its popularity, which is now enjoying a high point, is easy to understand.

Like any beautiful thing, Fiji rewards close attention. Glance at a summary of its wonders and you’ll see the usual ivory beaches, the usual sparkling surf, and palm trees. What you won’t see, however, is the variety and excitement that Fiji can offer. Its archipelago of over 330 different islands means that it really can offer its visitors an endless number of different activities to enjoy, from windsurfing to snorkeling and beyond.

Another thing that you have to visit the islands to truly appreciate is the friendliness of the islanders themselves. No matter how many guests come and go, they’re always ready with a friendly “Bula” (which means “welcome” in Fijian). Their smiles and kind faces are usually the hardest thing to leave when vacation time is over, and the first thing people recognize upon coming back next year.
